Georgia Outdoor Products started with one lot in Good Hope and has since added a second location in Winder, so folks have two places to walk through real buildings before they buy. We supply tube steel, cold form, and red iron metal structures, from carports and garages to commercial buildings and barndominiums, along with portable sheds and shelters for horses, chickens, dogs, and plants. Because we sell, deliver, and install what we offer, you deal with one company from the day you pick a building to the day it sits level on your property. At Georgia Outdoor Products, you can choose an in-stock shed off the lot or place a custom order anywhere from 8' x 12' up to 16' x 56', and our metal buildings go up all over the Southeast. Do I need a permit for a shed, carport or metal building?

It depends on your city or county, the size of the building and how it will be used. Larger structures and anything used as living space usually need a permit, and some neighborhoods also have HOA rules. It is worth calling your local building office before your building is delivered.

How should I prepare my site before delivery?

Pick a spot that is as level as possible, clear of stumps and debris, and has room for a truck to reach it. Many portable sheds sit on a gravel pad or blocks, while larger metal buildings are often anchored to a concrete slab. Georgia Outdoor Products can talk through what makes sense for the building you choose.

What is the difference between tube steel, cold form and red iron?

Tube steel uses square steel tubing and is common for carports, RV covers and garages. Cold form steel is shaped from sheet steel into lighter channel sections, and red iron is heavy structural steel that allows wide open spans for commercial buildings and barndominiums. We offer all three, so the frame can match the size and job of your building.

Can I buy a shed off the lot, or does it have to be custom ordered?

You can do either. Georgia Outdoor Products keeps portable sheds in stock and also takes custom orders. Sizes run from 8' x 12' up to 16' x 56' in many styles and options.

Can I see buildings in person before I buy?

Yes, walking through a building is the best way to judge size and layout. We have a lot in Good Hope and a location in Winder, where visits are by appointment. Call ahead and we can point you to the models that fit what you need.
